Downtime

Damm!! been offline for 3 weeks.

It all started 3 weeks ago, monday. I had to be in the Coach Station in Manchester by 12:00. So i though yeh, i'll wake up 7:30am, then i'll have lots of time to spare, since the station was few minutes walk.

So i relax. slowly packing everything away. Bought the ticket. just need to print it out.
Damm!!! the hall doesn't allow printing from a computer that goes through a proxy server, thats not there's!

So what do i do, i have couple of hours. I try and change the MAC address in the halls website so that i can connect the laptop directly to the network and use the printer. The bastard printer doesn't work. So that was a pain.
So i switch the MAC address back for my server. Rush to the nearest printing shop, which wasn't far. And got my ticket printed.
I now have an hour, and 5 min, left.

So i relax, sat down. Reading the New Scientist that i bought at the start of the Uni year, thinking that i would read it.

Then it occured to me that yesterday the time changed. It went forward an hour. Damm!! i bloody forgot to change the time on my allarm clock, which i glanced all day to check the time.
Now i realise i have 5 min left!
good thing i had packed everything already.
So i ruch to the station, 10-15min late.

Guess what, the coach is late. So i wait.
and wait.....
It was one and a half hour late!!!!

damm those coach\'s!!

So i'm thinking. I hope the server's still connected to the net.

Well it wasn\'t!
So now i come in, unpack the laptop and then fix the MAC address in the hall's website so that my server can connect. I rebooted the server, loosing all that precious uptime, it was without net for 3 weeks, most of the programs that we're running needed the internet, so it was best to just reboot.

and guess what!

my clock is still wrong!! lol
