So here I am, bored, going through the gentoo forum looking for anything new. So I came across this post about religion. So I guess I had to say something.
Since I don't usually write things so passionately, I'll record this post here ;)

....
No thanks I don't want my country to be like Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Sudan or any of the other oppressive Islamic regimes which are a direct result of Islam and its laws.[/quote]
Let me tell you one thing. These country did not become like this on there own. They have been moulded by USA and other western countries for their own gain. Not just for petrol, but other things as well.
Have you ever heard of "School of the Americas"? or otherwise known as "School of the Assassins" (
See here)
The western countries have been influencing what goes on in the east for a very long time. They are the ones who put people like Saddam Hussein into power. They are the ones who trained Bin Laden.
These people are using whatever resources they can to do what they want. They'll use ideas such as religion to control people, brainwash youths into doing bad things.
I don't think anything improve in Iraq. All I’m going to say is just wait for another decade or two and see the next guy who needs to be taken down from power.
Organisations such as the CIA and MI6 are working behind the scenes to corrupt the east. They use whatever intelligence they gather to get people who they think they can control, using money or fame (or whatever), then they help them to move up into power, slowly.
I'm just worried that this has gone so bad. All these people who has been put into power by the west, so that they can control them has now wised up is now working against the west.
There's just too much secrecy going on in this world. The distinction between the 'good guys' and the 'bad guys' is vague. Don't get me wrong, I don't think Saddam is a good guy, or Bin Laden is a good guy. But you have to look at how this happened.
OK let’s say all government in this world is corrupt and is bad. So how would you fix this?
Well you can't, let me explain why.
Firstly let’s explain how politics works.
You scratch my back, and I’ll scratch yours when I become in a position to do so.
yes, all these 'bad' people are in power. So they have the power to decide who gets to replace them when it’s their time to come down from their position.
So think about it. 'bad' people will only help 'bad' people. So therefore the next generation of leader's will again be 'corrupt'. This is because no 'good' person will scratch a 'bad' persons back. Therefore that 'good' person won't have ANY chance of moving into any kind of power role.
So, what do we do about this then?
I have no idea!!! seriously. I don't think there's any solution to this, other then destroy democracy all together. But that won't be a wise thing to do. The whole runs of democracy and if you take it down, well.... the world would fall apart, literally.
No solution.
Unless you can get a 'good' to be 'bad' for a while :D:D:D:D which is unlikely.
Media is a VERY big part of the control. That everyone knows. I guess the only way to get the 'truth' out of the TV is to get as many points of view as possible.
I hate all these patriotic people. They are brain washed in thinking their government is the 'good guy' and then argue against anyone who says wrong about them.
I am a Muslim. But I’m not going around killing people. I am not going around defending my country, which is UK by the way ;), without considering they could do bad.
I look at the news and see so many MP's lying, trying to hide the truth.
But that doesn't mean I hate this country. I love this country.
I have never forced my beliefs onto other people. I have always had an open mind. This is the same for a lot of people I know, that also includes Muslims.
People also say that religion is wrong. There should be no religion. It’s a bad thing.
Let me tell you something.
Religion gives people a reason to live. If people didn't have a reason to stay alive, no one would care if someone kills another person. I mean why not kill a person? Is there any reason I shouldn't go around with a bat and smashing people's faces into the ground?
Without religion there is no purpose.
I think religion is what gave us 'moral'. This I think was especially important in the past when humans we're still young. Religion gave them rules. That rules are very important for civilisation to grow.
There are people who are saying that there is no need for religion any more.
We know everything now. We know what’s good and what’s bad.
I don't think that’s true. We'll always need religion. It’s a part of life.
I'm not just talking about Islam, or Christianity or any other religion. It’s all the same to me. It’s all about purpose in life.
I feel strongly about religion. But today there are so many people exploiting religion for their own gain. This is bad. It’s giving religion a bad name.
